Management Regulations state that the employer must provide INFORMATION, INSTRUCTION, TRAINING & SUPERVISION to maintain safety in the workplace.
College training, manufacturer programmes and industry-recognised apprenticeships all include health and safety within their training programmes. However, this does not include experienced workers or refresher training.
The most comprehensive document here is the “Best practice booklet” as this includes all the recommended safety controls for all the risk assessments. Issuing this will mean that the employee has been given all the industry ‘Best practice’ information.
We have also provided a series of ‘toolbox talks’ which can be issued to employees.
It is important to obtain signatures which will provide a record that the employee has read and understood the information. Not only does this prove we have complied with the regulations, it can be invaluable in cases of accidents and injuries.
